Half-Life 3 Speculation Is Ramping Back Up, As Valve "isn't done with the big announcements"
"Valve has been rather busy this week, announcing not only a brand new Steam Machine that acts as a console/PC hybrid, but also a nifty controller and the Steam Frame, a standalone VR headset. But they might not be done just yet. Mike Straw, senior editor of Insider Gaming, said this on X: "BTW, Valve isn't done with the big announcements. Soon enough there's going to be something else" BTW, Valve isn't done with the big announcements. Soon enough there's going to be something else- Mike Straw (@MikeStrawMedia) November 13, 2025"
"Unsurprisingly, fans have come to one conclusion: a new Half-Life game. After all, what would help sell hardware, if not a Half-Life game? Perhaps another VR game to help shift the Steam Frame? Or maybe Half-Life 3 launching alongside the Steam Machine? Of course HL3 has been rumoured for what seems like forever at this point. Earlier this year, it was claimed the game is actually playable from start-to-finish."
Valve released a new Steam Machine console/PC hybrid, a controller, and the Steam Frame standalone VR headset. Industry insiders indicate at least one further major announcement is forthcoming. Fans largely speculate that the unannounced reveal could be a new Half-Life entry intended to boost hardware sales, possibly VR-focused or timed with the new hardware. Half-Life 3 has long been the subject of rumors and recent leaks claim the game may be playable from start-to-finish. Several November dates hold Half-Life-related anniversaries that could align with a reveal. No confirmation of the rumored game has appeared yet.
