GTA 6 trailer two heats up to deliver nearly half a billion views in a day, and it's pulled off another streaming stonks miracle for an 80s hit
Briefly

The release of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6's trailer two has generated significant buzz, amassing over 475 million views within its first day across multiple platforms. Rockstar, the game's publisher, proudly shared these statistics with The Hollywood Reporter. Comparatively, the first trailer garnered 93 million views in its first 24 hours but was limited to YouTube. Trailer two has quickly gained traction on YouTube, accumulating over 84 million views to date. Interestingly, the trailer also caused a surge in Spotify streams for its featured 80s song, illustrating the influential relationship between the game and pop culture.
One thing they do have in common is sending the number of Spotify streams for an 80s tune through the roof. Last time it was Tom Petty's 1989 banger 'Love is a Long Road', this time it's been 'Hot Together', which The Pointer Sisters belted out in 1986 and has seen an obscene 182,000% increase in its plays on the streaming service since featuring in the trailer.
Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it's great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way. GTA cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else.
