Astro Bot director Nicolas Doucet confirmed that fan feedback encouraged the development of new content, with free DLC for the PlayStation 5 exclusive launching weekly in October.
The new levels, starting with five speedrunning challenges, will include bot characters inspired by Stellar Blade and Helldivers 2, enhancing the gameplay experience.
An online leaderboard will allow players to compare their speedrunning times against friends and others globally, adding a competitive edge to the fun.
Hints of exclusive appearances from franchises like Assassin's Creed are present in the upcoming DLC, though notable franchises like Final Fantasy are missing from the base game.
