Four Years Later, 60fps Bloodborne Patch Gets Taken Down By Sony
Briefly

Sony has filed a DMCA takedown notice for a fan-created 60fps patch for Bloodborne, which gained popularity after its release in 2021. Developed by Lance McDonald, the patch offered enhanced performance for the game that officially runs at 30fps on PS4. Although this patch was available for nearly four years, its current removal has raised questions about Sony's delayed legal action. Fans are still waiting for a proper remaster or port for PC and PS5, despite ongoing requests. Players looking to experience Bloodborne can access the original PS4 version via PlayStation Plus Extra.
On February 21st, 2021, I created and released a patch for Bloodborne which makes the game run at 60fps. Today I received a DMCA takedown notification on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment asking that I remove links to the patch I posted on the internet, so I've now done so.
It's unclear why Sony's legal action against this 60fps patch was so belated. While many fans, including Kai Cenat, have requested Bloodborne ports of PC and PS5, Sony has not publicly announced any plan to do so.
