"The official Fortnite Status account on X posted about the couch issue at 8:05 PM ET on November 2, which is literally five minutes after The Simpsons started last night. The couch gag saw poor Peely meet an unfortunate fate and brought an unsettling new meaning to Fortnite skin. Meanwhile, an account named Relishh on X believes the couch was disabled in-game because the interaction could lead to invincibility for players."
"The odd glitch reportedly required bringing Homer's car to the furniture, pickaxing the vehicle to zero health, then sitting on the couch. This would lead to an explosion and player's health being set to zero permanently. A squadmate then could revive the Fortnite player, making them invincible for the rest of the match. The Simpsons season just went live in Fortnite over the weekend."
Epic Games temporarily disabled the Simpsons couch in Fortnite after an invincibility exploit was reported. The exploit reportedly required bringing Homer's car to the couch, pickaxing the vehicle to zero health, then sitting on the couch, which caused an explosion and set the player's health to zero permanently. A squadmate could then revive that player, granting invincibility for the remainder of the match. The Simpsons content recently launched in Fortnite, transforming the map into Springfield with locations like the power plant, Moe's Tavern, the Simpsons home, and related Battle Pass cosmetics.
