Former GTA Lead Designer Hopes You'll Build The Content For His New Game For Free
Briefly

MindsEye is an upcoming third-person shooter directed by Leslie Benzies, a former Rockstar Games producer, set for release on June 10. While it bears resemblance to games from the Xbox 360 era, its unique features include a platform for user-generated content called Build.MindsEye and ongoing studio support via Play.MindsEye. The game aims to create a linear 20-hour campaign involving a character with memory loss in a fictional Las Vegas, adapting user-generated content into the overarching story for a decade-long engagement strategy.
"The studio will support the game through Play.MindsEye, with continuous new content," he told GamesIndustry.biz, referring to the space where new studio-made add-ons will be hosted.
"Some of the content, like races, are made just for fun. But most of the content, we'll try and incorporate it into the story."
"MindsEye is a single-player $60 game in partnership with publisher IO Interactive, best known for the Hitman series."
"Benzies hopes user-generated content will be a big part of the game's decade-spanning growth plan."
