Amazon has confirmed the renewal of its Fallout TV adaptation for a third season, ahead of the anticipated second season premiere in December. Actor Aaron Moten hinted at a potential five or six season run for the series. The first season received positive reviews and became one of Prime Video's top titles. The second season will follow the aftermath of the inaugural season's finale and explore the Mojave wasteland leading to New Vegas. The main cast returns, alongside new characters, including Macaulay Culkin.
"Together with our amazing partners at Bethesda Games and Bethesda Softworks, we are delighted to announce a third season of Fallout, well ahead of the much-anticipated debut of Season Two," said global head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, Vernon Sanders.
The early renewal shows that Prime Video has a lot of faith in the video game adaptation, and for good reason. The first season of Fallout was critically well-received and beloved by audiences.
Shirking the trend of terrible video game adaptations, Fallout was a hit with fans of the games while also being approachable for newcomers to the franchise.
The second season will pick up in the aftermath of Season 1's epic finale and take audiences along for a journey through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.
