Elden Ring Nightreign's First Network Test Isn't Going Well At All
Briefly

The much-anticipated online co-op spin-off of Elden Ring faced severe issues during its inaugural network test, which was supposed to last three hours. Players who were selected for testing slots reported errors and server congestion rather than the online co-op gameplay they expected. A series of updates from FromSoftware indicated server restarts, but ultimately the first session was completely abandoned. With apologies from the developers, the session aimed at testing connectivity ended prematurely, signaling challenges in the game's online infrastructure even before broad release.
"We are currently restarting the Elden Ring Nightreign game server," read a message on FromSoft's Player Support X account. "We will provide an update once the restart is complete."
Customers selected for the trial would have been hoping for...some co-op online Elden Ring goodness, rather than error messages and a broken server.
The entire first three hour session has been completely given up on, with the most recent update explaining, "Today's network test will end at 11pm (Japanese time) as scheduled."
Of course, the point of a network test is to-and stay with me here-test the network, and this is very much what's occurring.
