Dune: Awakening is introducing major adjustments to its endgame's Deep Desert region to cater to PvE players frustrated by the lack of access to high-tier resources. Funcom's creative director, Joel Bylos, has stated that new areas designed specifically for player-vs.-environment interactions will allow non-PvP players to engage with endgame content without being forced into competitive scenarios. However, challenges remain as solo play may result in a grindy experience, while high-stakes areas remain dominated by PvP mechanics.
"We want PvE players to be able to play the endgame and have access to the content of the endgame."
"While PvE players will now be able to venture in the Deep Desert, solo players will find the experience grindy."
