"Rumors about Gerighty leaving Ubisoft began back in mid-October of last year after people took notice of his LinkedIn profile no longer showing his executive producer role as Gerighty's current job. The next day, Massive issued a statement via social media acknowledging the rumors, and saying they were "far from true." "Julian is still with us as Executive Producer for The Division franchise, leading the creative vision for , Resurgence , , and . We can't wait to share what's ahead," read Massive's post."
Julian Gerighty, executive producer on Tom Clancy's The Division, departed Ubisoft after almost 27 years and will join Battlefield Studios. Ubisoft studio Massive Entertainment announced the departure and wished Gerighty luck on his new role. Massive stated the teams that built the Division world remain in place and are focused on The Division 2, The Division 2: Survivors extraction mode, the mobile title The Division Resurgence, and The Division 3. Rumors about Gerighty's exit surfaced when his LinkedIn no longer listed his executive producer role; Massive previously denied those rumors. Magnus Jansén was named creative director for The Division 2: Survivors, while leadership for Resurgence remains unclear. Gerighty recently described The Division 3 as "shaping up to be a monster." The departure follows a Realism Mode announcement for The Division 2 and layoffs at Massive and Ubisoft Stockholm affecting about 55 employees.
