"Fortnite's bug-filled Shock 'N Awesome season certainly invokes Helldivers 2's galactic war against the Terminids, but don't expect an official collab between the two games anytime soon. That's according to Shams Jorjani, CEO of Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead. In a response to a question from a fan on the Helldivers 2 Discord about whether Super Earth's Helldivers could make an appearance in Fortnite (via VideoGamer), he said a collab between the two third-person shooters is "not a priority." However, Jorjani didn't rule out the possibility of a crossover entirely. "But who knows one day," Jorjani said. "[Fortnite] is cool. And quite big.""
"While Fortnite is known for its various crossovers (the Shock 'N Awesome battle pass includes not only Power Rangers skins but also ones from Halo), Helldivers 2 is getting in on the action as well. Released alongside Helldivers 2's launch on Xbox, a Halo ODST Legendary Warbond features four Halo weapons and two Halo-inspired armor sets. It's the game's second crossover, following the release of various cosmetics and weapons based on Sony's Killzone franchise last year."
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 overhauls the map with a bug invasion that places nests, egg sacs, and objectives requiring players to eliminate the swarm. Players can call in drop pods containing exotic-quality weapons to aid in eradicating the infestation, mirroring Helldivers 2 support weapon mechanics. Epic introduced a massive alien bug worm, the Queen, ahead of Helldivers 2's own Hive Lord arrival in the Into the Unjust update. Fortnite continues to host licensed crossovers like Power Rangers and Halo, while Helldivers 2 has featured Halo ODST and Killzone-themed cosmetics and weapons.
