Kingdoms blends permanence and roster management from the original Darkest Dungeon with traversal and combat in Darkest Dungeon 2. Players must journey across lands, gather resources, battle evil incursions, upgrade heroes, Inns, and fight three new monster factions: Coven, Beastmen, and Crimson Courtiers.

Darkest Dungeon 2 features 3D visuals, a run-based road trip structure, turn-based combat system, 14 playable heroes, five regions, end bosses, and a metagame hub. The free Kingdoms update, set for late 2024, will be available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
