CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 in June, with significant contributions from Nintendo's staff. Engineer Tim Green highlighted the team's immediate interest in adapting the game for the new console and discussed the development challenges faced. Despite these hurdles, they have managed to maintain the vision for the game without compromising its quality. The Ultimate Edition will include all existing content, and innovative mouse-style controls will be integrated for a more PC-like experience.
Development still had challenges, of course, as any development process does, but we've been careful in picking tradeoffs to not compromise the game's vision.
We haven't had to fight with fitting into memory. And the speed of the data storage has helped alleviate some of those early streaming problems.
