Can Carvanha be shiny in Pokemon Go?
Briefly

Carvanha, a Pokémon from the Hoenn region, can indeed be found shiny in Pokémon Go. Currently, Carvanha and its evolution, Sharpedo, hold low value in the game. However, there is anticipation that when Mega Evolution for Sharpedo is introduced, it will serve as a strong water- and dark-type attacker. The shiny rate for Pokémon generally sits at one in 500 but can vary based on special events. There are no known items to boost shiny rates, leaving players to rely on chance.
As of writing this, Carvanha and Sharpedo have pretty low value, but when its Mega Evolution does get added to Pokémon Go, it will probably serve as both a pretty good water- and dark-type attacker.
The shiny rate for Pokémon on a regular day is approximately one in 500. Carvanha is not a confirmed Pokémon that gets a "permaboost".
