"Presumably as a way of marching ever forward towards its (alleged) 100 million player goal for Battlefield 6, EA has announced that the multiplayer shooter will be getting its first free trial later this month. This is, of course, specifically for players to sample the core, paid component of the game, as the recently launched Redsec remains free-to-play. Redsec, however, offers modes like battle royale and Gauntlet, which aren't quite the traditional Battlefield experience."
"Beyond the trial's content itself, the timing is certainly great. Battlefield 6 just received one of its biggest patches, kicking off the second phase of its first season. So far this season, we've seen two new maps, several new weapons - but more importantly, solutions to problems the game's had since launch, as well as fixes to longstanding bugs. The miserable XP progression Battlefield 6 launched with is far more tolerable. Challenges and Assignments are much easier to understand and actually finish."
EA will run a week-long free trial of Battlefield 6 from November 25 to December 2 on all platforms, offering a limited portion of the full game. Trial players will access three maps — Siege of Cairo, Eastwood, and Blackwell Fields — and five modes including Conquest, Breakthrough, Sabotage, and Team Deathmatch, with a fifth mode to be announced. Redsec remains free-to-play with battle royale and Gauntlet modes. The trial coincides with a major patch that starts Season 1 phase two and delivers new maps, weapons, improved XP progression, clearer challenges, toned-down weapon dispersion, fixed vehicle bugs, and expanded Portal experiences.
