Rebecka Coutaz set a goal to make Battlefield 6 one of the best entries and feels an obligation to the community and teams. Battlefield 2042 launched with technical problems and unpopular changes, including 124-player matches and Specialist characters. EA continued to support and update Battlefield 2042, bringing it to a much improved state with active players. An in-game Road to Battlefield 6 event incentivizes Battlefield 2042 players with unlocks for Battlefield 6. Design director Shashank Uchil acknowledged experimental features that failed to resonate, noting developers try ideas and ultimately follow player preferences. Battlefield 6's beta feedback is largely positive but not declared a success yet.
