Obsidian's new RPG Avowed launched with favorable reviews, achieving a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam. However, player counts seem underwhelming, especially when considering Game Pass audience numbers. The game peaked at 17,490 concurrent players on Steam, which is lower than top titles from Obsidian and other popular games. Despite surpassing some of Obsidian's lesser-known titles, it struggled in comparisons with other recent RPGs. The current performance might not reflect its overall success due to multiple platforms contributing to player engagement.
The visible Steam numbers do still give us at least a broad look at how it's doing.
Avowed has managed a peak concurrent player count of 17,490, which was achieved 19 hours ago as of the time of writing.
However, the player numbers seem soft so far.
According to SteamDB, Avowed's peak player count puts it right on the lower end of Obsidian's releases.
