Ubisoft faces immense pressure to deliver a successful title after previous failures, underscoring the importance of Assassin's Creed Shadows. This installment promises an expansive gameplay experience filled with missions and sidequests, minimizing boredom even during flashbacks. While it performs well across platforms, including high-end PCs, small visual issues did arise on PS5. The anticipation surrounding this game reflects the company's desperate need for a hit, especially with competing titles to consider, establishing it as a critical moment for Ubisoft's future.
It's unlikely that the fate of a company as large as Ubisoft will hinge on the success of one tentpole single-player game.
Ubisoft desperately needs a big hit (and for the Rainbow Six Siege X overhaul to go well).
Thankfully, for the most part, Assassin's Creed Shadows runs well across my consoles (base PS5 and Xbox Series X) and PC.
However, I did spot some small visual aberrations on PS5.
