Alan Wake 2's new update allows players to switch off PSSR completely, reverting to AMD's FSR upscaling, correcting image quality issues experienced on PS5 Pro.
Digital Foundry found that while PSSR generally improves performance, in the case of Alan Wake 2, FSR offered better image quality, showcasing the game's unique circumstances.
The latest patch also introduces a Balanced mode targeting 40fps, merging the strengths of Quality mode and Performance mode for players with a compatible 120Hz display.
Remedy is not only addressing performance wobbles and image quality problems but also enhancing the game's enjoyment with minor fix updates and small DLC adjustments.
