Travis Kelce dreams up roller coaster for new theme park investment
"In the summer of 2024, Cedar Fair and Six Flags merged to form a single company, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. In a recent episode of the "New Heights" podcast hosted by Travis Kelce and his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, Jason asks Travis to describe what his dream roller coaster would look like. Kelce's dream coaster would be the first of its kind to combine several thrill elements never seen in one roller coaster."
"Kelce first references Millennium Force, a coaster at Six Flags Cedar Point, to make the point that his coaster would need "a few drops in there, one or two," he says during the podcast. He also wants the roller coaster to have several loops. Kelce also opts for an inverted coaster similar to Raptor at Cedar Point, which he mentions by name."
""It's got to be shoulder harness. I feel like I love the Raptor because it was like your feet were dangling, and I like that, being a big guy," Kelce says. "I don't got to worry about my height being an issue on this thing."Kelce would also like the roller coaster to be indoors, similar to Disneyland's Space Mountain."
Travis Kelce added Six Flags Entertainment to his investment portfolio, acquiring a 9% stake alongside investment firm Jana Partners. Cedar Fair and Six Flags merged in the summer of 2024 to form Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. Kelce framed the investment as a way to continue tradition and enhance Cedar Point and Six Flags experiences for future families. Kelce outlined a dream roller coaster that would combine multiple thrill elements, including several drops, multiple loops, an inverted shoulder-harness configuration similar to Raptor, and an indoor setting akin to Space Mountain that preserves the suspended-feet sensation.
