Stark is in discussions to raise at least €300 million at an approximately €2.5 billion valuation, which would more than double its valuation from earlier in 2026 when it crossed the €1 billion mark. Founded in 2024 and about 18 months old, the company builds autonomous strike systems focused on loitering munitions that hover, identify threats, and self-destruct on impact. Its flagship Virtus autonomously identifies and strikes targets before detonating, reflecting a shift toward low-cost autonomous weapons deployable at scale. Stark co-founders include Florian Seibel, previously of Quantum Systems, and Johannes Schaback. The company faced technical problems during military trials in Germany and the UK last year but continued winning major contracts and expanding its product portfolio. The round follows record European defense-tech fundraising, including Helsing raising $1.2 billion at an $18 billion valuation and Quantum Systems raising €340 million in 2025 at above €3 billion, with Peter Thiel invested in both. Globally, Anduril raised $5 billion at a $61 billion valuation.
