Anthropic overtakes OpenAI as the most valuable AI startup
A funding round led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital provides support for safety and interpretability research. The funding will expand compute capacity and scale Claude products and partnerships. Anthropic reported that run-rate revenue crossed $47 billion earlier in the month. The round includes $15 billion of previously committed hyperscaler investments, including $5 billion from Amazon. Infrastructure partners such as Micron Technology also contributed. Micron Technology’s stock valuation surpassed $1 trillion. The company stated the funding will help meet historic demand, remain at the research frontier, and bring Claude to more places where work happens.
