"As a part of the project, I took over an area of the home office space/area for me. In this section, I will share with you the final product that I have created: an ergonomically crafted, minimalist, and adjustable desk full of hidden storage. I attempted to follow the design thinking process or framework, which talked of five important phases: interviewing the users, defining problems at hand, ideating solutions for these problems, then creating scribbles for one idea,"
"Most of the challenges revolve around home office space. If we are used to our own space in the home office, we may struggle to keep our own home office clean, adjusted, and spacious. I know that many users face this situation, and they might not have realized that issues exist. In this case study, you guys discover that there are some good solutions for home office space for everyone."
The project addresses common home office space constraints by proposing a minimalist, ergonomically crafted, adjustable, and movable desk with hidden storage. The design aims to accommodate users who work in kitchens, sofas, or bedrooms due to lack of dedicated space. The development followed a design thinking framework involving user interviews, problem definition, ideation, sketching, and feedback iterations. The final prototype emphasizes spaciousness, adjustability, mobility, and organized storage to improve cleanliness, comfort, and productivity. The desk targets broad user needs, seeking to be adaptable for various home environments and to enhance the overall home office experience.
