Graca Funicular / Atelier Bugio
Briefly

The newly designed funicular is a modern transport solution connecting Lisbon's Graça hill, influenced by historical systems such as the Bica Elevator. It features a public access station at Rua dos Lagares for easy entry, ensuring smooth passenger flow with only two crucial stops. One stop is situated at the street level to facilitate access, while the other leads to the height just short of the viewpoint. The cabin's design enhances passenger experience with a transparent section for views of the adjacent historical Convent, which will become a public garden.
The funicular integrates into the Lisbon landscape, creating a link to the historical Graça hill while ensuring efficient transport with minimal stops.
Inspired by the iconic Bica Elevator, the funicular design incorporates a public-facing station that acts as a gateway between urban spaces.
