In a recent podcast interview, Vice President JD Vance discussed several scenarios that could potentially ignite World War III, emphasizing a conflict between Iran and Israel as particularly dangerous. He outlined the possibility of Iranian-backed militias escalating violence against Israeli civilians, prompting a military response from Israel and potential involvement from regional powers like Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Vance also pointed to the tensions surrounding Taiwan and China's ambitions as another possible flashpoint for conflict, highlighting the precarious international situation and America’s limited support due to military focus elsewhere.
Vance pointed to a potential conflict between Iran and Israel as both the most likely and dangerous possible World War III scenario. "I think the most likely and the most dangerous scenario is Iran and Israel right now," he stated.
"So the Israelis invade, the Iranians counterattack, and now you have Israel, Iran in a regional conflict, ... that is the sort of thing that could balloon into World War III," Vance expressed.
Vance highlighted the precarious situation in Taiwan, stating, "Everything that we have tells us the Chinese want Taiwan... The Taiwanese, I don't know if they could repel a Chinese invasion right now."
