During a White House press briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt expressed concerns about a CNN segment on the app ICEBlock, which reportedly helps users locate ICE agents. Although she hadn’t viewed the clip, Leavitt highlighted a worrying 500% increase in assaults on ICE agents, questioning the responsibility of CNN in promoting what she termed an incitement to violence against law enforcement personnel. She emphasized the importance of recognizing the challenges faced by ICE officers, suggesting public gratitude for their work in maintaining safety in communities.
Given the recent rise, I believe 500% increase in assaults on ICE agents, I wanted to see if you could comment on that and why CNN would be promoting such an app.
Well, it's a very good question... this would be an incitement of further violence against our ICE officers.
As you know, as you stated, there's been a 500% increase in violence against ICE agents... who are just simply trying to do their jobs.
It's unacceptable that a major network would promote such an app that is encouraging violence against law enforcement officers who are trying to keep our country safe.
