Truth Social has introduced a new AI search feature, Truth Search AI, powered by Perlexity, available on its web platform. Initial tests indicate that the search tool primarily cites conservative media outlets, such as Fox News and The Washington Times, with limited diversity in sources. This is despite claims of advocating for free speech. In some instances, the AI provides summaries that do not align with the favored narrative, highlighting the negative impact of Trump's tariffs. CEO Devin Nunes emphasized the feature's role in supporting the "Patriot Economy" and plans for further enhancements based on feedback.
The feature, Truth Search AI, is powered by the AI startup Perlexity and is now available on the web version of Trump's social media platform.
A search for "Are Trump's tariffs improving the economy?" delivered five links to Fox Business, for example, with no other cited sources.
Truth CEO Devin Nunes said the feature will make the platform "an even more vital element in the Patriot Economy."
The bot did, however, say that Trump's tariffs have "generally had a negative effect on economic growth and employment."
