President Donald Trump said he can unilaterally withhold Congressionally appropriated funding for New York City if Zohran Mamdani is elected mayor. He labeled Mamdani a 33-year-old communist who doesn't know a damn thing and accused him of never having worked. The remarks occurred during a Q&A with Cabinet members and the president of Argentina, whom he is endorsing and offering a $20 billion bailout. He warned against implementing what he called "communist policies" and pledged to clean up crime in New York within about 30 days, citing interventions in Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Memphis as precedents.
