Donald Trump said he intends to sign sweeping cryptocurrency market-structure legislation very soon and framed crypto as central to U.S. financial innovation leadership. He cited the GENIUS Act, focused on stablecoins, as a foundational step toward keeping America the crypto capital of the world. He said Congress is working on broader market-structure rules for bitcoin and other digital assets that he hopes to sign. He said clearer U.S. regulation would legitimize the asset class, unlock pathways to "financial freedom," and help the United States compete with China, which he said also covets crypto markets.
