He said he knew nothing about the raid and that he learned of it from reports that morning, but also said he could have known or even started it, noting his role as chief law enforcement officer. He said he would likely be briefed later that day and claimed he prefers not to know details. The raid began at about 7 a.m. as a national security probe; Bolton was at home but not detained. FBI Director Kash Patel posted "NO ONE is above the law @FBI agents on mission."
