Trump Reportedly Perplexed by Marjorie Taylor Greene's Recent Rebuffs: What's Going On' With Her?
"President Donald Trump is reportedly perplexed by MAGA loyalist Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) for breaking ranks with both party and the president on several major issues, including Gaza and the government shutdown. Trump is said to be perplexed by her shift, according to two GOP sources who told NBC News that in recent months the president has called some senior Republicans to ask: What's going on with Marjorie?"
"The Georgia congresswoman has in recent months attacked GOP leadership and defied the White House. She's referred to Israel's offensive in Gaza as a genocide, backed the release of the Jeffrey Epstein case files, and criticized the Senate as a place where all good things go to die. Last month, she declined an invitation to Trump's Rose Garden Club opening."
"This week, Greene even sided with Democrats on extending Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies during the government shutdown fight. I'm not some sort of blind slave to the president, and I don't think anyone should be, Greene told reporters after news broke of her ACA stance. I serve in Congress. We're a separate branch of the government I got elected without the president's endorsement, and I think that has served me really well."
Donald Trump has been described as perplexed by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's recent departures from party and presidential positions. Greene has criticized GOP leadership and the White House while labeling Israel's Gaza offensive a genocide, supporting release of the Jeffrey Epstein case files, and disparaging the Senate. She declined a Rose Garden Club invitation and sided with Democrats to extend ACA subsidies during a government shutdown fight. Greene emphasized independence from the president, cited serving in a separate branch, noted she won without his endorsement, and attributed some positions to frustration after being discouraged from a Senate run and passed over for a post.
