Donald Trump announced an upcoming meeting with Vladimir Putin to discuss the situation in Ukraine, promising to reveal the location soon. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the planned summit, stating any agreement excluding Ukraine would fail to achieve peace. Zelensky affirmed that Ukraine's territorial integrity is non-negotiable and expressed concern about solutions that do not include Ukraine, labeling them as "dead solutions." He declared that Ukraine will not cede territory to Russia and criticized Trump's escalating sanctions ultimatum against the Kremlin for its continued aggression.
Mr Zelensky dismissed the planned summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, warning that any peace deal excluding Kyiv would lead to "dead solutions".
Ukrainian officials previously said Kyiv would be amenable to a peace deal that would de facto recognise Ukraine's inability to regain lost territories militarily.
Mr Zelensky said Ukraine "will not give Russia any awards for what it has done" and that "Ukrainians will not give their land to the occupier".
Exasperated that Mr Putin did not heed his calls to stop bombing Ukrainian cities, Mr Trump almost two weeks ago moved up his ultimatum to impose additional sanctions on Russia.
