"At least 100 Billion Dollars will be invested by BIG OIL, all of whom I will be meeting with today at The White House, Trump said on Friday in a predawn social media post."
President Donald Trump urged major oil companies to invest at least $100 billion to revive Venezuela's petroleum industry and fully tap its reserves. He promised that companies would be dealing directly with the United States and would receive government protection rather than engaging with Venezuelan authorities. Trump emphasized that investments would be private capital, not government funds. U.S. forces seized a fifth tanker linked to Venezuelan oil, underscoring U.S. control over exports and desire to influence refining and production. Executives from 17 companies, including Chevron, ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips, were invited to the White House. Chevron still operates in Venezuela while Exxon and Conoco lost projects in a 2007 nationalization.
