Trump demands his distorted' portrait in Colorado's Capitol be taken down
Briefly

President Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with a portrait of himself in the Colorado State Capitol, calling it distorted and seeking its removal. The painting, funded by a Republican-led effort during his first term, was unveiled in 2019 and was meant to represent all Presidents in a nonpartisan manner. Trump particularly criticized the artist, Sarah Boardman, claiming she lost her talent over time, especially in comparison to her previous work for former President Obama. The Colorado Governor's office acknowledged Trump's interest and mentioned their commitment to visitor experiences.
I would much prefer not having a picture than having this one, Trump wrote, asking that Gov. Jared Polis take it down.
the one on me is truly the worst, Trump wrote. She must have lost her talent as she got older.
The unveiling of the portrait on Aug. 1, 2019...was described as nonpartisan by organizers.
We appreciate the president and everyone's interest in our Capitol building and are always looking for any opportunity to improve our visitor experience.
