He argued many people innocently met Epstein at parties and that released images could ruin reputations of respected bankers, lawyers and public figures. Speaking at Mar-a-Lago, he noted widespread acquaintance with Epstein, cited Larry Summers' withdrawal after email disclosures, dismissed the files as a hoax, and called them a distraction from his party's achievements.
