President Donald Trump criticized six Supreme Court justices for striking down tariffs he imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and praised Justices Thomas, Alito and Kavanaugh. He called the opposing justices "a frankly disgrace" and accused them of being "fools and lap dogs" for political opponents and of being swayed by foreign interests. He used IEEPA to impose reciprocal tariffs and levies tied to the fentanyl trade against China, Canada and Mexico. He said he would replace the levies using other authorities, including a 10% "global tariff" under section 122 of the 1974 Trade Act. He also said the administration would initiate investigations under section 301 to address unfair trade practices.
