"Democrats on the House Oversight Committee today released previously unseen documents that appeared to reinforce President Donald Trump's connections to the convicted child-sex offenders Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. In an e-mail from 2011, Epstein writes to Maxwell, "i want you to realize that that dog that hasn't barked is trump." Epstein invokes the name of a trafficking victim, which the House committee redacted, and says that she "spent hours at my house with" Trump. "I have been thinking about that," Maxwell replies."
"In another e-mail exchange, between Epstein and the journalist Michael Wolff, in 2019, Epstein refers to Trump's private club, Mar-a-Lago, and says, "of course he knew about the girls." (Later that year, Epstein died in a jail cell while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges; Maxwell is currently serving a twenty-year sentence for trafficking.)"
"Shortly after these files were made public, Republicans on the committee released more than twenty-thousand pages of additional documents that were received from Epstein's estate. Later, Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, revealed the redacted identity of the victim mentioned in the e-mails released by Democrats: the late Virginia Giuffre. Giuffre first met Maxwell in the summer of 2000, at Mar-a-Lago, where Giuffre was a sixteen-year-old locker-room attendant."
Released documents include e-mails in which Epstein suggests "that dog that hasn't barked is trump" and refers to a trafficking victim who "spent hours at my house with" Trump. Epstein told Michael Wolff that Trump’s Mar-a-Lago "knew about the girls." Republicans later released over twenty-thousand additional pages from Epstein's estate. The White House press secretary identified the redacted victim as Virginia Giuffre. Giuffre met Maxwell at Mar-a-Lago in 2000 as a sixteen-year-old locker-room attendant. Giuffre alleges that Epstein and Maxwell raped and trafficked her for more than two years, and her memoir makes no allegations against Trump.
