Trump adorns Oval Office with statue depicting Butler assassination attempt - as artist plans massive 9-foot sculpture
Briefly

President Trump has introduced a dramatic new statue in the Oval Office, commemorating the moment following his July 2024 assassination attempt. This artwork, crafted by artist Stan Watts, captures Trump raising his fist defiantly after being shot at a rally in Butler, Pa. The sculpture features three Secret Service agents attempting to escort him away, emphasizing the chaotic scene. The statue aligns with Trump's messaging of resilience, and it joins another artwork from the incident displayed in the East Wing, showcasing themes of courage and patriotism amid adversity.
The statue depicts Trump defiantly raising his fist in the air moments after being hit in the ear by one of would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks' bullets on July 13.
It symbolizes the divine intervention as well as the man and his message of unity and resilience for which America stands.
Three Secret Service agents, including the current director of the agency Sean Curran, can also be seen in the art piece trying to usher Trump offstage.
