Thousands of Boeing workers who make the F-15 and F/A-18 fighter jets are about to go on strike
Briefly

Approximately 3,200 Boeing workers at military aircraft facilities are set to strike due to unresolved contract disputes. Key manufacturing plants in Missouri and Illinois produce the F-15 Eagle, F/A-18 Hornet, and technology for the F-47. Union representatives state that the workers deserve a contract that recognizes their expertise and secures their families' futures. Boeing is prepared for this strike with a contingency plan involving non-union employees. The workers previously rejected an offer including 40% average wage growth.
"IAM District 837 members build the aircraft and defense systems that keep our country safe," IAM's Midwest Territory general vice president, Sam Cicinelli, said in the statement. "They deserve nothing less than a contract that keeps their families secure and recognizes their unmatched expertise."
"We're disappointed our employees rejected an offer that featured 40% average wage growth and resolved their primary issue on alternative work schedules," said Dan Gillian, vice president and general manager of Boeing's air dominance division.
