A $7 million settlement has been proposed in a class-action lawsuit against Omnia Nightclub in San Diego, which faced allegations of discriminatory practices during its "ladies' night" events. The lawsuit claimed that men and non-binary attendees were charged full price and subjected to frisking while women received discounts or free entry. The lawsuit, based on the Unruh Civil Rights Act, includes members who attended these events since April 2015. Judge Matthew Braner is set to rule on the settlement's fairness, which admittedly does not acknowledge any wrongdoing.
The proposed settlement agreement, pending judicial approval, does not imply any admission of liability or wrongdoing on the part of the Omnia Nightclub.
