American citizens living abroad who have attempted to renounce US citizenship are invited to share detailed personal accounts. Contributions should describe what triggered the decision, the difficulty of the process, any encountered issues, concerns about returning to the United States, and any memorable or lighter encounters. Responses can be submitted anonymously through an encrypted form. Only the Guardian will have access to contributions, and provided data will be used solely for the feature and deleted when no longer required.
