Sen. Cory Booker Rips Into Mike Waltz Over Signalgate
Briefly

Sen. Cory Booker criticized Mike Waltz for showing cowardice during his Senate confirmation hearing for the UN ambassador position. He accused Waltz of failing to take responsibility for his role in the Signalgate scandal and blamed others, including President Biden, instead of acknowledging his mistakes. Booker emphasized that Waltz's actions lacked integrity, as he demeaned those who presented the truth about sensitive information sharing. He concluded that such behavior compounds disqualification for serving in a leadership role while undermining national security.
I've been really disappointed, Booker began as he addressed Waltz: I've heard you just blame Biden. I've seen you not only fail to stand up, but lie.
You denied, deflected, and then you did something that, to me, really lacks integrity—you sought to demean and degrade that very journalist.
That's not leadership when you blame people that tell the truth. That's not leadership when you can't say the words, I made a mistake.
Smearing people and attacking folks, singling them out, just further compounds what I think is disqualifying about you for this position.
