Rep. Mike Flood faced uproar at a town hall meeting after being questioned about the covering up of Jeffrey Epstein-related files. Flood stated he plans to sponsor a resolution to release these files with the intention of protecting victims. Despite his support for this cause, the audience remained vocal against him. Previously, House Republicans rejected an amendment demanding the preservation of Epstein documents. Flood criticized the previous administration's lack of action regarding these serious charges, emphasizing the need for accountability and transparency.
Flood responded, "Let's be very clear. At the next pro forma session of Congress, you'll find my name as a sponsor on a resolution from the House Rules Committee to release the Epstein files, to protect the victims and not re-victimize them again."
Flood's remarks did little to quell members of the audience, who continued to shout down the congressman.
Get the information out there, get it to the people, protect the victims, charge those we have probable cause that did that, but remember, nothing happened for the better part of four years with an administration that actively charging and prosecuting these kinds of crimes day in day out.
Last month, House Republicans voted against an amendment that would have mandated the Trump administration to preserve and release all documents related to the Epstein case.
