"Pro-MAGA journalist Nick Sortor told Fox News's Kayleigh McEnany on Saturday he was arrested in Portland, Oregon this past week for being conservative. Video posted to Sortor's X account showed Sortor stamping out a fire after an American flag had been set alight on Thursday. Another video he retweeted showed Sortor being harassed by protesters as he walked down the street."
"And nobody, even my biggest detractors, cannot take that video and say I was the aggressor in that situation, simply trying to walk down the sidewalk with my camera. I'm actually walking to my car at the time. and they jump in the way, they block me, they start surrounding me, and I keep trying to walk around them and they continue to push me and then eventually, one of them throws a punch."
Nick Sortor, a pro-MAGA journalist and supporter of Donald Trump, was arrested in Portland after an incident involving an American flag being set on fire. Video on Sortor's X account showed him stamping out the burning flag and other footage showed him being harassed by protesters while walking. Additional video appears to show protesters blocking and assaulting him as he tried to walk to his car with a camera. Sortor sought safety near Portland police after being punched and surrounded and contends he was not the aggressor. A tweet by Bill Melugin described the footage as showing Sortor physically assaulted and threatened.
