The Department of Defense designated more than 30 elite private universities as "moderate to high risk," making them ineligible for DOD tuition assistance. Funded Legal Education Program (FLEP) candidates were instructed by the Judge Advocate Recruiting Office to withdraw any applications or reject admissions to listed schools immediately. Unfunded Legal Education Program (UFLEP) candidates were strongly encouraged, though not ordered, to do the same. A screenshot of the private-school list was posted online by @CounterIntel, and the email indicated a separate list of banned public schools would follow despite many application deadlines already having passed.
