Sarandos "spoke with the president in the last couple of weeks in a confab that lasted about two hours," The Hollywood Reporter reported on Sunday, citing "multiple" anonymous sources."
"My real problem with the show, however, wasn't the low IQ traitor, it was that the new ownership of 60 Minutes, Paramount, would allow a show like this to air. Ted Sarandos spoke with the president in a confab that lasted about two hours. A White House official declined to comment on private meetings, and Netflix did not respond to requests for comment. The president lashed out at Paramount over a 60 Minutes interview with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, accusing the new ownership of being no better than the old and of fake reporting. The movie theater industry fears that a Netflix-WBD acquisition would reduce theatrical releases and depress licensing fees. Paramount emphasized its deep ties to theaters and claimed a Paramount-WBD merger would increase the number of movies shown in theaters.
