A House Judiciary Committee hearing on the Justice Department's handling of Jeffrey Epstein files deteriorated into a partisan confrontation. Democrats accused Attorney General Pam Bondi of stonewalling and deflecting questions about the files, while Republicans defended Bondi. During a heated exchange at the end of the hearing, Bondi accused Representative Becca Balint of contributing to an "anti-Semitic culture," after Balint yielded her time. Balint, who is Jewish and referenced losing her grandfather in the Holocaust, protested the accusation and left the hearing.
