NYT Scribe Hits Pro-Trump Opinion Writers With Vicious Slam
"Goldberg, during an event at Harvard University on Oct. 16, said it is difficult to find writers who are pro-Trump, honest, and not racist. She added: There's not that many people in the middle of that Venn Diagram."
"The NYT opinion section, which has several self-identified conservatives but no Trump supporters, as she noted. Out of those four conservative writers David Brooks, Ross Douthat, Bret Stephens, and David French none of them have said they voted for Trump. And many of them have been highly critical of Trump, including Stephens, who wrote a column last year, A Conservative Case Against Trump, outlining why he loathed Trump and would be voting for then-Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. Trump is worse in ways that matter profoundly to the rule of law, the health of capitalism and the future of freedom at home and abroad, Stephens wrote."
"The New York Times has 11.88 million subscribers and, according to Goldberg, is still searching for a non-racist MAGA writer to give its readers a different slant than the rest of its opinion section."
An Oct. 16 Harvard event linked pro-Trump stance, honesty, and non-racism as a rare overlap among writers. The event barred photos and videos, drew about 30 attendees, and had one armed police officer present. The New York Times opinion section includes several self-identified conservatives but lacks declared Trump supporters. Four named conservative columnists — David Brooks, Ross Douthat, Bret Stephens, and David French — have not said they voted for Trump and have been publicly critical of him. Stephens wrote he would vote for Kamala Harris and described Trump as damaging to the rule of law, capitalism, and freedom.
