"A majority of registered U.S. voters do not believe that ICE agent Jonathan Ross was justified when he shot queer mother Renee Good to death in Minneapolis last week. A Quinnipiac Poll found that 82% of registered voters had seen a video of Good being shot. 53% of respondents said that the shooting was not justified, while 35% said it was, and 12% had no opinion."
"The divide was largely partisan. Democrats (92%) were more likely to say it wasn't justified, compared to Republicans (10%). Most independents (59%) also thought it wasn't justified. Men were more likely to say that the shooting was justified than women, but even a plurality of men (44%) said it was not justified, and a smaller percentage (42%) said it was justified. 61% of women said it was not justified, compared to 30% of women who said that it was justified."

Party divisions were stark: 92% of Democrats said it was not justified versus 10% of Republicans, and 59% of independents also said it was not justified. Men were more likely than women to view the shooting as justified, though 44% of men still said it was not justified while 61% of women said it was not justified. The poll surveyed 1,133 voters January 8–12. Approval of ICE and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem showed partisan splits, with 57% disapproving of ICE enforcement and 52% disapproving of Noem.
