More than 100 groups blast Israel's weaponisation of aid' as Gaza starves
Briefly

Israel continues to block millions of dollars in aid supplies to Palestinians, resulting in relief goods stranded in Jordan and Egypt. Over 100 aid groups accuse Israel of obstructing life-saving aid entry into Gaza, with new rules denying food, medicine, and water. NGOs claim they have not delivered aid since March 2, citing Israeli authorities' rejection of their requests based on new security vetting regulations. This has resulted in hospitals lacking essential supplies, leading to deaths among vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly, and those with disabilities.
Relief organisations that have worked in Gaza for decades are now told by Israel that they are not authorised to deliver aid due to new registration rules, which include so-called security vetting.
Bushra Khalidi, Oxfam policy lead, said her organisation has more than $2.5m worth of humanitarian aid supplies that have been rejected from entering Gaza by Israel.
Despite claims by Israeli authorities that there is no limit on humanitarian aid entering Gaza, most major international NGOs have been unable to deliver a single truck of life-saving supplies since 2 March.
Hospitals in Gaza are now without basic supplies as a result, and children, the elderly and those with disabilities are dying from hunger and preventable illnesses.
